First Holy Communion

At Our Lady Queen of Peace, our Year 4 children are given the opportunity to embark on a spiritual journey to prepare for their First Holy Communion through engaging and informative sessions led by school staff who act as our First Holy Communion Catechists. These sessions take place every month after school from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

Designed to deepen their understanding of the Mass and the significance of Holy Communion, the children explore the meaning behind each part of the Sacrament of the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation and why we celebrate these Sacraments together as a community.

Each child receives their own workbook, I Belong, which is filled with fun activities to help to guide them along their path to First Holy Communion. The children will then come together in a specially dedicated Mass in June to celebrate this important milestone in their faith.

Children who belong to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, but do not attend our school, are welcome to join our preparation sessions. Please contact the School Office if you would like to know more.
