Year 6 are off!!

All of our Year 6 children have been enjoying outdoor activities at Derwent Hill Outdoor Education Centre this week. They set off on Monday VERY excited. We look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return on Friday.

In safe hands

Our very own William and his team of St John’s Ambulance volunteers were on hand at our Summer Fayre to show us basic first aid skills.

Summer Fayre

Our Summer Fayre was a huge success. Thank you to the Friends of OLQOP for their hard work and organisation. Thank you also to the staff who came along to help. We started with sunshine, ended with rain but everyone had tremendous fun inbetween!

Leavers Hoodies

Our Year 6 children got a lovely surprise when they were presented with their leavers hoodies by their reception buddies. A well deserved extra break for both year 6 and reception to get together.

CAFOD – Lenten Walk

All of our children completed their Lenten walk in school to raise money to help fight global poverty. Our Year 6 children accompanied their Reception buddies which they were all very excited about. Thank you to everyone who has donated either in school or on our Cafod Just Giving page.

Bring your duck to work day!

Our Early Years and Upper Key Stage 2 are busy nurturing their new arrivals. Our ducks from KS2 – Vader and Leia – are keen to help out with lesson planning in class. Learning about new life and Gods creations is very exciting at this time of year.

NSPCC Number Day

Today we supported the NSPCC, taking part in Number Day by holding a non uniform day in school. Children wore clothes displaying either a number or a shape. They took part in various activities during the day highlighting how maths is used in everyday life and how much fun maths can be!

Breakfast with Santa

Thank you to the Friends of OLQOP who organised a very special morning for our Nursery and Reception children. Santa Claus came to join them for a special breakfast, with stories and singing and a surprise gift too! What an exciting start to their day!

Children in Need

To raise money for Children in Need we came to school dressed in pyjamas or spots. Throughout the day our children took part in activities and raised the fantastic amount of £270.00.

Anti Bullying Week

To mark the start of our anti bullying week activities we wore odd socks to school to remind us that we are all unique, that it is okay to be different, to be proud of who we are and to always choose kindness.

Remembrance
